As your therapist, my job is to sit with you through the pain and discomfort to help you develop and strengthen healthy coping mechanisms. Mental health issues are not “fixed.” They are worked through. Effective therapy leads patients to better manage their symptoms and increase self-acceptance and self-awareness.
Eating Disorders & Body Image/Body Dysmophia Therapy
These days, everywhere we look, there is something telling us that we should look a certain way. It can get very loud sometimes. I can help you sort through the noise and strengthen the one voice that truly matters: your inner voice.
For over 21 years, I have successfully treated (even the most severest of cases) eating disorders in both teens and adults (anorexia, bulimia, and BED). I challenge clients to break through these destructive coping patterns, learn to be vulnerable, and expose their emotions. I am an interactive therapist who specializes in the treatment of Eating Disorders.
Anxiety/OCD Therapy
Anxiety is the body’s natural way of responding to stress. It’s completely normal to feel anxious when meeting new people or giving a big presentation at work. However, sometimes that anxiety can become ever-present. It can seep into every aspect of our lives and even become debilitating. If left untreated, the anxiety can continue to deepen and worsen.
From Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety can manifest itself in various ways. Using different therapeutic techniques, I look at your entire environment to see how you respond to situations and offer viable solutions for more positive outcomes. You can’t control the people and situations around you, but I can help you control how you react and respond.
Relationship and Couples Therapy
There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. Each one has its ups and downs, its good times and bad. Therefore, therapy can be beneficial for relationships at any stage, and there is no wrong time or reason to seek help. Some people are just looking to build a solid foundation to prevent future problems, while others may need help resolving more serious issues.
By working with a licensed therapist such as myself, you can explore issues, work on communication, improve interactions, and resolve conflicts in a safe and judgment-free environment. I approach each situation with patience, support, and understanding, hoping that you will learn to do the same with your relationship.
