During my over 28 years as a therapist I have treated numerous psychological conditions and have worked in various settings, including psychiatric hospitals and mental health centers. My clinical focus and expertise includes eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, relationship issues, severe trauma, and grief.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), my approach is to view the entire environment rather than only the problem. Numerous events and people impact our lives. It is important to look at how you respond to these and their influence on your personal struggle.
We use the past to guide us forward—never blaming, but understanding. I help you truly grasp the concept of not allowing your emotions to manage you, but you learning how to manage them. It is never about not feeling, but how you deal with your emotions that creates freedom or impasses.
My job isn’t to fix but to assist you with learning positive and realistic coping skills. During our sessions, I’ll offer constructive feedback to reduce the interference your mental health struggles have with your daily life. Acceptance, validation, and empowerment are key factors throughout therapy with me.
